This thing within me

Another poemy thing. A bit negative I'm afraid.
-----------
This thing within me,
Lurking, silent, hidden;
Waiting, undetectably.
This thing within me,
Growing, spreading, changing;
Revealing itself, unexpectedly.
This thing within me,
Cut out, removed, analysed;
Weakened, temporarily.
This thing within me,
Lurking again, hidden;
Waiting, as we wait fearfully.

Caught it
Alison, you have really caught the menacing, deadly silence of this illness. If it were just a piece of poetry, I would say 'congratulations',
but it isn't, it is more. I'm glad you were able to write it.
pat
but none the less...
..another beautifully written poem, which puts into word pretty much how we all must feel. Have you thought about writing a book instead of all that decorating, I'm sure it would be much more cathartic!

Thank you
Your poem sums up the emotions that we feel in such a beautiful way. Such a talented lady!
Take care

Emotions
I am a big fan of poetry, both reading and writing.
It can be really very theraputic - no matter how negative it sometimes comes out. Most of mine have always be fairly maudling over the years!
Its always good to read emotional poems - well done you xx
truth
Aren't poems judged by their content of emotional truth, rather than positivity? I'd have been impressed by a comic limerick about metastatic cancer nonetheless. LOL.
here to impress
There once were some cells from Kentucky
who thought themselves incredibly lucky
They grew and multiplied
and moved around inside
until their host was a dead as a ducky
(sorry, is that in bad taste..)
Absolutely!
Very bad taste . . . but hilariously funny! Congratulations - I think both your poems are brilliant!!!
V. Good
LOL
or more locally..
There was a young cell from Dunbar
who was determined that he would go far.
He learned to mutate
but thus sealed his own fate
for he was chopped out and put in a jar.
Class act Alison..C !!
Keep em comming - and the honour of getting Seantys first recorded 'LOL' - truly astounding (high praise indeed) (and meant in true comaradary) I think you have started something here - have you read Dennings poem on the cosy cottage retreat blog on the homepage - you two would be a good team ! Perfect words
Alison,
What a gift to be able to express your emotions so beautifully in a poem,

Loved the limericks too x x
