Warm Thoughts
Oh Babs - I so wish there WAS something I could suggest. Like you I am on Lansoprozole, but if my symptoms get a bit bad one day, then I take 2 instead of just the one. You could try really soft scrambled egss, soups (with bread crushed in), apart from that, I'm sorry, I'm stumped. I'm so sorry Babs, but if warm thoughts are any comfort to you, then I send you bucket loads, and I hope it's not long before this eases. If you're no better as the evening goes on, perhaps you should ring out of hours number for GP and see if you get any help from that. Let us all know how you get on, ok? with lotsa love kate xxxxxxxxx

Heartburn
Hi Babscatt,
Don't know if this any help, but my GP prescribed Omeprazole when I was crying with acid indigestion and heartburn but it sounds a bit the same as the one you've already got. Keep pestering your GP until he comes uo with something that does work

Oh Dear Babs
Well from a nursing angle I have to tell you that is easier to breathe if you are not lying down so use plenty of pillows but try to be more upright in bed. This should also help with heatburn/reflux. I do think it is worth contacting your GP again or a macmillan nurse - what you are describing isounds as though it s a RT 'flare up' and steroids will probably help your breathing by reducing the swelling in your windpipe. However steroids can make hearburn worse so you will need to keep taking your one a day antiacid tablet - which should be working and helping by now. If you want to be sure ring up the helpline here as you know they will give sound advice. If something is affecting your breathing so much you should make a fuss (or get hubby to) and get it sorted. You must be worn out. Best wishes, Jools x x
Heartburn
You poor thing Babs. Last year after my op I suffered dreadful heart burn . Like you I was also put on Lanzaprozol. Do you also burp a lot, I did & the Dr. also prescribed Bascoban which helped. I also found that walking around helped shift the wind. Try & avoid acidy foods as well. Plain soups, eggs etc. went down without to much pain. It does hurt........ the feeling of being full all the time as well is awful even though you feel hungry at the same time. Try sleeping sitting up as i found that helped as well. hope this helps you a bit. Thinking of you. Love Lyn xxxxxxxx
