Life continues in its mundane way

My second chemo was last Tuesday and things seem to have gone OK. Still haven't got my hospital appointment times sorted out in my head, for example appointment time 1.30 really means 12.30 for bloods but they don't tell you that on your appointment card. The doctor apologised for the fact that my scan results weren’t through but as I had only had the scan on Thursday I didn’t expect them to be ready. Should get them on the 16th, could be an early Christmas present. The needle went in nice and easily (wonderful nurse) and there was no real problems although we had to use the heat pack again. Side effects , well to be honest there haven't really been any, a little bit of constipation, not as bad as the first time, a little bit of indigestion, so I should not complain. I had decided to travel to the hospital by myself and on the return journey kept phoning husband to let him know exactly where I was “ I am getting on the bus……..now I am getting off the bus” Poor thing he does worry when I am out on my own. If he could find a long enough piece of rope…….. you can imagine what he would do with it.
Went to pick up a wig on Friday, don't think I will be wearing it very often, it looks and feels like a couple of dead rats on my head and besides I quite like the bald look
( I actually think I look better bald than with hair which is a very worrying thought.) I sent a text to my elder daughter ( a teacher she is supposed to have brains) The text said “Have new pet, her name is April ( that’s the style name of the wig) chocolate and copper colour” Now she does know my sense of humour. A couple of hours later the phone went. It was the aforesaid daughter “Muuuuum, Is April a dog?” DHOH!
I went into town with husband, daughter and grandchildren on Saturday. My little grandson who is only 4 found it very difficult to accept grandma with a hat on it took quite a time for him to come round but I think he did in the end. I had told my granddaughter ( 10 going on 25!) that I was going to tattoo some rabbits on my head (well they do look like hares from a distance) Her mum had to explain it to her but she did find it funny, We had actually gone to get her a pair of boots, she wanted Ughs , have you seen the price of them? But we persuaded her to get some Rocket Dogs. Much more her style.
I finally came up with one positive thing about having breast cancer at this moment in time. (All those who read this and who are teachers will understand) School is having an Ofsted tomorrow and I won’t be there to jump through the hoops!!! HURRAH!!!
Should have gone for a physiotherapy appointment today but woke up to find the world covered in white stuff. Now we don’t get much of it here so two or three flakes and the whole town grinds to a halt. Roads jammed, lorries jack knifing, buses cancelled so of course no way could I get to the hospital.
Oh well I think I have rambled on for long enough Hope no one has nodded of to sleep reading this.
Take care all,

Inspection
Kath ur blog made me laugh! As a nursery nurse I too "missed out" on an HMI inspection last week and as I told my boss there are many things I miss but this is not one of them.Julesx
Like your sense of humour
I had a heat pack, actually two every time when I was on chemo. Even after 30 sessions, my veins are recovered.
